Hi There!

I am a graduate student at Walden University in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. My undergraduate degree is in English from Boise State University, but my work as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem for children in child protective cases drew me to the counseling field. While advocating for children who have experienced trauma and neglect is still important work that I do, I hope to have a more meaningful, long-term impact on young people by helping them heal and cope through therapy. As I grow in this field, my goal is to pursue certifications in art therapy, play therapy, support animal-assisted therapy, addiction counseling, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I am originally from the Seattle area but have called Boise home for the last 20 years. I am married and have two small kids, one shaggy dog, and two chatty cats. In my free time, I enjoy reading, puzzles, music, traveling, and being outside in the year-round Idaho sunshine with my family and friends.
