Touchstone Group Meeting
May 19 @ 6:30 am - 8:30 pmFree
Touchstone is a FREE grief and loss support group that we offer at our downtown and Meridian locations.
Our downtown group meets twice monthly, while Meridian is currently once a month. We hold a potluck style meal to start the night with WSCC providing the main dish. We simply ask the families to bring a side to share.
We hold dinner–casual style–together. The parents then go into their own support group led by Elizabeth Bader, LMSW. During this time participants engage in a grief specific activity which is led by Stacey Titus, LCSW and Katie Griffith. Group is also supported by two amazing facilitators: Brooke and Sydney.
Who may attend the group?
We are open to individuals ages 5-18 yrs who have experienced a significant loss. There is not a time limit requirement for families entering group. The loss could been something they experienced a week ago, or even years ago–if their grief is in need of some extra support, we are here. Parents are also welcomed (and required for the 12 and under crowd). We also know grandparents and other family members often step up as a caregiver or guardian–they are welcomed too! If you are unsure–just reach out to Stacey or Katie, we will get you taken care of.
Is this an open or closed group?
This is an open group, that allows new participants year round. Currently our only off month is June.
I have a client who I think would be a good fit–who do I contact? What do they need to do?
You may either contact Katie or Stacey (emails listed below). There is a very brief intake form that they will have to fill out but, we leave the process very simply and easy for families.
